Here is a beautiful Original Antique French Linen Backed Poster entitled "La Liberte" 1898 By PAL (Jean de Paléologue, 1860-1942)

Title: La Liberté. 1898.

PAL announces the inaugural issue of this liberal newspaper specializing in political and literary coverage with an image of an unfettered Marianne, holding an outsize writer’s quill—the weapon of choice of literati everywhere—that serves as the flag staff for the French tricolor.

This striking poster features Marianne wearing a cuirassier's helmet. She holds in her hand a flag/feather with the motto "Fatherland, Order, Progress". At her belt, she carries a sword. This poster is reminiscent of Eugène Delacroix's painting "Liberty Leading the People".
