Measures approx. 21”H x 17.5”W

In the center the icon of the Resurrection .

Around, twelve vignettes with from left to right and from top to bottom: the Nativity of the Virgin, the Presentation of the Virgin in the Temple, the Annunciation, the Nativity of Jesus, the Circumcision, the Baptism of Christ, the Entry into Jerusalem, the Transfiguration, the Ascension, the Trinity, the Elevation of the Cross and the Dormition of the Virgin.

The major holidays in the Eastern Orthodox Church follow the liturgical calendar, and the Twelve Great Feasts are an integral part of this calendar. These feasts commemorate significant events in the life of Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary. Icons are venerated and used as aids to worship, prayer, and meditation.
